The XrayNotes Annotation Program

The  XrayNotes program consists of three parts. a.) The XrayNotes Image Annotation Program, b.) The XrayNotes Server, c.) The XrayNotes Portal. On this page we introduce the XrayNotes Annotation Program.

XrayNotes is designed to modern user interface standards, including non obtrusive menus, mouse gestures. With extraordinary ease of use, XrayNotes targets to be on every Physician's desk.

To demonstrate, here is a quick screen shot of the file menu. Big buttons, easy access. Just point and click.

To date, we have a strong feedback, that this is the easiest application program to use, ever. Don't take our word for it, you may download a free 60 day trial  to see for yourself.

XrayNotes menus are located in the four corners of the application. The menus show only when the mouse hovers over the corner activators. (We dubbed these as 'Chevrons') [Pictured on the sides here] Once the mouse is hovering over the Chevron, A menu strip opens up. Every corner has its own Chevron, and its own menu strip. We dubbed the menus after their positions on the screen, as NE NW SE SW like the four directions on the compass.
Activating the menu item is as simple as clicking on it. This is particularly easy because of the large size of the menu icons. The large icons also aid readability, and speed up interaction.
When using a Tablet PC it feels natural to position the pen to the corners to control the application's menus. Better tablet PC control and integration  may help raise the popularity of the tablet PCs.

Below, a sample of the other menus. As this screen shot was taken from the development version of XrayNotes, it may not be the exact menu that will be delivered with the application.

Annotation primitives menu strip (SE):

Document management menu strip (NE):

File Operations menu strip (NW):

The gesture dialog (pictured to the right) is a significant innovation in XrayNotes. The whole application can be controlled from this little pad. For example, drawing an 'O' gesture will open a new file. The image to the right is captured during an 'O' gesture, and the open dialog popped up.

The gesture dialog allows the user to to work at an extended pace, as the gesture recognition is finely tuned to recognize gestures of any size, speed and orientation.
To date, most common gestures are implemented. Following is a sampler of frequently used gestures: (mnemonics in red)  O=>Open file, W=>Size document to Screen Width, C=>Close Document, L=>Load last edited document, E=>Exit XrayNotes.
